Mikroorganism Database
For underground hydrogen storage or underground methanation reactor operations the behavior of microorganisms in the underground is a crucial factor on the success of the storage/conversion performance. However, different microbial species can show highly varying living preferences.
To have an overview over the possibilities, a database for methanogenic and sulfate-reducing microorganisms was built at the Institute of Subsurface Energy Systems of the Clausthal University of Technology. With new information on kinetics and living preferences of relevant microorganisms, the database will be continuously extended.
